Welcome to Roystone Hot Springs: Guest & Facility Rules

NOTICE: Roystone Hot Springs is a family-oriented and alcohol-free facility. The adult who made the reservation is responsible for the safety, conduct, and rule enforcement for the entire group, and is liable for any resulting damages. We are not responsible for any injuries or damages to your personal property.

General Conduct & Safety

  1. Alcohol and Drugs: The entire property—including the pool, hot tub, party room, and picnic area—is alcohol-free. Drugs, fighting, loud profanity, lewd, disorderly, or illegal conduct are strictly prohibited and will result in eviction.
  2. Smoking: Smoking is permitted only at your RV or tent or in designated parking areas, away from shelters and pools. Dispose of cigarette butts in receptacles, not on the ground.
  3. Weapons: No shooting of guns, bows, or weapons of any kind. Possession or use of weapons will result in immediate eviction.
  4. Property Boundaries: Stay within the grass areas and your reserved area. Keep off the hill, away from neighbor’s land, and out of all private residences and yards.
  5. Pets: Pets are allowed only in camping and RV areas. They must be on a leash when outside and are not allowed in any buildings. Clean up after pets immediately with a bag. Noisy or aggressive pets are not allowed. Violators will be charged a $25 fee per offense.
  6. Quiet Hours: Quiet time is from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. No yelling is allowed after 10:00 PM. Non-camping guests must leave between 10:30 PM and 8:00 AM (except for Spring House reservations).

Facility Protection & Damages

You will be charged for all damages and messes.

  1. Pool and Sports Equipment:
    • Do not hang on, climb on, or throw balls at the basketball court fence, pickleball, or volleyball nets.
    • Do not throw balls at the pool siding or metal art.
    • Do not hang on the basketball hoop or the waterfall massage pole ($10 fine).
  2. Building and Furniture:
    • Do not hang on or kick bathroom doors. Do not stand on sinks or toilets.
    • Do not hang on or kick the picture boards in the shelter.
    • Picnic Tables: Protect tables from hot objects (like Dutch ovens, which can melt them). Do not stand or jump on tables.
  3. Trees: You will be charged for broken branches and damage to trees. Watch your children around all plant life.
  4. Fire Pits: Use only established fire pits. You will be charged for moving fire pits.

Fire and Outdoor Activity Rules

  1. Open Fires: Open fires must be in established fire pits and attended at all times. Extinguish fires completely until cool to the touch before leaving. We comply with all local fire restrictions.
  2. Motorized Vehicles: All motorized vehicles (including ATVs and dirt bikes) must remain on roads and obey a 10 MPH speed limit. No parking or driving on the grass.
  3. Prohibited Items (Minimum $200 Fine for Cleanup):
    • No glitter, confetti, silly string, sparklers, rice, birdseed, sunflower seeds, or water balloons ($200 fine).
    • No fireworks.
    • Decoration: Use masking tape only (no staples, nails, tacks, Scotch Tape, or duct tape).
    • Craft Paint: Craft paint may only be used outdoors on the grass or on your own tables or tarps. No craft paint or glue on our tables.

Pool and Hot Tub Rules

  1. Supervision: An adult must accompany children under age 18 inside the pool and hot tub gates at all times.
  2. Hot Tub Restriction: The hot tub is NOT safe for pregnant women and children 8 and younger. They are not allowed.
  3. Prohibited Items: No alcohol, food, glass bottles, smoking, or pets inside the pool or hot tub gates.
  4. Health: Do not swim if you have open wounds or are sick.
  5. Diapers: Untrained children must use a swim diaper (available for $1 at the office). Regular diapers are not allowed in the pool.
  6. Gate: Keep the pool gate closed at all times.
  7. Lifeguards: A licensed lifeguard is required by the State of Idaho for groups of 35 or more swimmers. It is your responsibility to hire one.
  8. Hot Tub Use: The hot tub and hot tub showers are available to hot tub renters only.

Lightning Safety Rules

We do not refund for lightning. Check the weather report and notify us 48 hours in advance for a refund if you need to cancel.

  1. Evacuation: If there is lightning, EXIT the water immediately.
  2. Distance: Designate a weather safety lookout. When thunder or lightning are noticed, count the seconds between flash and bang. Evacuate the pool at 30 seconds or less ( miles away).
  3. Shelter: Direct swimmers to a permanent building (like the Party Room) or a vehicle. Avoid open shelters. If in a vehicle, keep your hands in your lap.
  4. Avoidance: Stay away from electrical conductors, metal objects, and water (including showers and wet floors).
  5. Wait Time: Wait 30 minutes after the last visible lightning or audible thunder before re-entering the water.

Area Specific Rules

RV and Camping

  • Check-in/Check-out: Check-in is at 1:00 PM, check-out is by 12:00 noon.
  • Water: Bring your own drinking water (all tap water contains excessive natural minerals from the Hot Springs).
  • Tents: If tenting multiple days in the heat, move tents daily or use bark/concrete areas instead of grass.
  • Trash: Please keep your site clean. Bag all trash and place it in the trash enclosure at the north end of the RV park. Collapse boxes. Household bagged trash only—no furniture, etc.
  • Supervision: Children may use the large terrace above the RV park. They may not go past the large terrace onto the road or hill, as this is trespassing.

Spring House Event Center

  • Care: Please take care of our new building.
  • Included Area: Rental includes private use of the grass area to the east (between the building and the dirt road). Other grounds (picnic shelters, pool, etc.) are shared unless reserved separately.
  • Alcohol (Allowed): Alcohol is permitted only within the Spring House, the porch area, and the designated grass area to the east. The renter must ask unruly or loud guests to leave. Uncontrolled groups will be asked to leave with no refund.
  • Cleanliness: Leave the building as clean as you found it or an additional cleaning charge of $25 per hour will apply.
    • Before leaving, remove all food, wash all dishes, wipe down counters/bathrooms, and sweep floors.
    • Return all furnishings to their original locations.
    • Do not allow children to roam with food (cupcakes, popsicles, etc.). Extra cleaning charges will apply.
  • Food Prep: This is a warming kitchen. Cook as much as possible in advance. No deep frying is allowed. Use the range fan with the stove top and use lids on fry pans.
  • Decorations: No candles or open flames inside. No nails, screws, tacks, or staples (masking tape only). You will be charged for wall damages.

  • Assistance: Call 208-584-3371 or come to the office (east of the pool).
  • Urgent Calls: For urgent calls only between 10:00 PM and 9:00 AM, and on Sundays, call 208-584-3465.
  • Emergencies: Call 911 for emergencies.
